Miss Spent Youth’s School of Mischief is now open! Series 4 starts May 5th !This class is geared towards beginners who are curious about burlesque, want more confidence in their body or just want to have fun being sexy! We’ll cover everything you need to create your first solo burlesque act and feel confident taking it of either on-stage or for a private 1 on 1 treat for your lover!product Nizagara
At our graduation show you’ll have the option to perform your new solo act! Not ready for a solo ? We’ll also be doing a fun group number you can perform in! If you aren’t interested in performing and just want to do it for fun, no sweat performing is not required.
Each class we will work on the different burlesque elements and techniques you’ll need to put together an act – whether your performing it in the bedroom or on stage! Bring your dancing shoes! No Dance Experience required! Sign Up For the 5-Week Series with Graduation Show!
Package includes props, gloves and practice boa to use in class, professional photo and video of your graduation performance and access to Miss Spent Youth’s private facebook group for students.
Classes are held at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Pasadena CA740 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91101from 1-2:30pm
Week 1 – May 5th: Body Confidence and Burlesque BasicsWe’ll work on body confidence and conveying sexuality in your own unique way! We’ll learn about character and how to move to different styles of music, how to tell a story and build anticipation with your act.
Week 2- May 12th: Taking It Off – You’ll learn how to take different clothing pieces off with different techniques for glove and stocking peels. Mother’s Day – bring our mom to class day!
Week 3- May 19th: Props and Costuming -We’ll learn how to work a boa, then explore how different costume pieces can be used and taken off on stage. Week 3 is also when you’ll bring in the music you’ve decided on for your solo act and we’ll discuss your vision and ideas for the number.
Week 4 – May 26th: The Finishing Touches -We’ll work on putting all the techniques together and adding transitions, creating stage pictures, traveling across the stage and engaging with the audience. We’ll also learn the group routine for the graduation show.
Week 5 – June 2nd: Act Review and Rehearsal (Performance Option Students Only)We’ll review your solo act, get feedback and tackle trouble spots. Then rehearse the group number and make sure everyone has everything they need to be ready for the Graduation show!
Dress Rehearsal TBD- We’ll get together for a final run through of your solo and group act before the showcase
Graduation Show: Date & location TBD! This is your debut performance! It’s going to be amazing! We’ll get photos and videos of your act that you can can use to submit to other burlesque shows or to leave your friends in awe. Solo performances from graduating students, student group number plus some special guest performances from inspiring LA performers. If at any time you want a private one-on-one to work on specific areas we can always book something. I want you to feel sexy and confident and I’m here to assist you in any way possible.
And Beyond: Everyone who takes my classes gets access to my exclusive Facebook Group where I share on-going tutorials and offer tips and tricks to help you continue on your burlesque journey. Plus you can communicate with other students and learn from each other!
